My First Love in Photography - Children Photographer | Palo Alto

I hope this makes up for my long absence in the blogging world... My passion for photography came to me a few years ago when I was busy putting my kid's scrapbook albums together.  Not long after, I found myself focusing more and more on the images I take and less on the pages I create.  I discovered that what is really important to me is being able to capture their expressions, the way they are at that moment, undisturbed from their "play". It is at this time when I fell in love with photography...children photography.

So when my friend and fellow photographer, Deborah Nagai of Deborah Nagai Photography invited me to come along and assist in her maternity photo shoot (lately we have been shooting together because it is fun doing it together),  I was thrilled to learn that the mom brought with her, her 3-year old daughter.

Here are the pictures I was able to capture in the pockets of time I had during the photo shoot.  I just realized how much I miss working 1:1 with kids. And I cannot wait to do more.

I hope you like these as I love them! These images were developed through constant engagement and play with Neve.  There were a lot of running, hiding and seeking and imaginative play.  Once I fixed my camera settings,  I left it alone as much as I can and concentrated on engaging with her.  I think it worked.  I love it!

Her natural smile....

The many expressions of Neve...

It's Peek-a-boo time...

Some time with Mom.

This is what you get when you are constantly running, twirling around....

No, I do not wear a tiara during shoots, but letting Neve see what's in my camera screen made her giggle and hide from me some more. Thank you Deb for taking this photo.

I told you so...I take what she gives me...even if it is just a foot or her back.

A little something different here..
